Steelers Triumph In Dublin’s Historic NFL Regular-Season Debut

In a landmark event for the NFL, the Pittsburgh Steelers secured a 24-21 victory over the Minnesota Vikings in Dublin, Ireland, marking the league's first-ever regular-season game on Irish soil.

The game showcased standout performances from several key players. Steelers running back Kenneth Gainwell led the charge with 99 rushing yards and two touchdowns, while quarterback Aaron Rodgers completed 18 of 22 passes for 200 yards and a touchdown. Wide receiver DK Metcalf made a significant impact with five receptions for 126 yards, including an impressive 80-yard touchdown.

On the Vikings' side, quarterback Carson Wentz threw for 350 yards, connecting for two touchdowns but also throwing two interceptions. Despite the high yardage, Wentz faced considerable pressure from the Steelers' defense, which recorded six sacks. Notably, DeShon Elliott and T.J. Watt each secured an interception.

The Vikings mounted a late-game rally, scoring two touchdowns in the fourth quarter—one from Zavier Scott and another from Jalen Nailor. However, the Steelers' defense held firm, and Wentz's final pass attempt on a critical 4th down with eight seconds remaining fell incomplete, sealing the win for Pittsburgh.

This victory elevates the Steelers to a 3-1 record, while the Vikings now stand at 2-2. The game not only provided thrilling football action but also underscored the NFL's commitment to expanding its global presence, bringing the excitement of American football to new international audiences.
